Improvement of Strovolos’ Municipal Sports Centre Infrastructure

Strovolos Municipality announces that part of the athletics track at the Municipal Sports Centre of Strovolos in Korytsas Street, near the park of Agios Demetrios, will be closed due to improvement works, from Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The rest of the centre’s facilities (tennis, futsal and outdoor fitness equipment) will remain in operation.

The first phase of improving the centre’s facilities is underway, with the aim of providing better quality services to citizens.

More specifically, the purpose of the improvement is to make the centre’s infrastructure modern, accessible, with a reduced energy footprint and the use of smart city applications.

The improved centre will include, in addition to better existing infrastructure (tracks, tennis courts, futsal courts), new basketball courts, a new athletics track, a new tennis court and, one more innovation, two padel courts.

A new refreshment room and new parking areas will be created while the energy footprint of all activities will be reduced, with the inclusion of circular economy practices and investment in renewable energy sources.
